Dr. Carol De Costa epitomizes all that can be accomplished with hard work and dedication.

A Native of Guyana, South America, raised in Brooklyn, Dr. De Costa is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai School Of Medicine.

She is a graduate of CUNY Medgar Evers College, Columbia University and SUNY Buffalo, School of Medicine. She is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and enhanced her education by studying acupuncture which included clinical training in Chengdu, China.

Dr. D, as she is fondly called by her patients, has owned Rehabilitation Medicine And Sports Services (ReMASS), located in Brooklyn Heights, NY since 1998. The practice started with one patient and has to date served more than Ten thousand patients. Dr. D along with the ReMASS team treats muscle, bone and nerve injuries of athletes and non-athletes alike. Her love for sports has afforded her the opportunity to work with

Olympic and Para-Olympic Athletes at the Olympic training centers in Lake Placid and Colorado Springs.

Dr. De Costa has trained many medical students, Pre-med students and medical residents. In addition, she provides lectures to students in NYC area Schools as well as members of community and corporate organizations. She was recognized as “Teacher of the year” by Family Medicine residents at Brooklyn Hospital and “Distinguished Preceptor” by medical students at Downstate School of Medicine. As a result of her accomplishments in the field of medicine several community and National awards have been granted to Dr. De Costa.

Passionate about wellness and prevention, Dr. De Costa, dedicated time away from her practice to support the passing of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. She met with elected officials in Washington DC and New York City, as well as testified in local jurisdictions on behalf of the millions of uninsured Americans.

Dr. De Costa uses every opportunity to share knowledge and empower others. She is a contributor to a text book on Women’s Sports Rehabilitation and is presently penning a book on wellness.
